Northern Ireland's Mojo Fury do exactly as they claim on the tin, and from opener The Mann this album delivers the kind of relentless rock’n’roll that was previously the bastion of Scandinavia, grabbing you firmly by the nuts like that dominatrix whose cat you ran over. The following few cuts keep up this same tradition of razor-sharp hooks and rock bad-assery in the style of early Foo Fighters as fronted by Snake Plissken.

Waiting for a but? Well, there isn’t one. Sure, there are a few moments where they rein in the pace a little, but it never stands in the way of an overall sense of musical indulgence. Even when they’re mimicking the synth-rock nuances of Nine Inch Nails on We Should Just Run Away, there’s still a steady injection of beer-swilling attitude running alongside the anthemic overtures. On the strength of this fine evidence, 2011’s gonna be a good one for Mojo Fury. [David Bowes]
