Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out

There's something endearingly infectious about this album, like that friend of a friend you're a bit ambivalent about, but the more they hang around, the more you like them. Part disco, part rock, part melody, the songs all rollick along at a similar jiving pace. The lyrics have that fast, rhythmic feel of beat poetry, and the music is tight while using a myriad of instruments - from drum machines and synthesizers through to trumpets, trombones, violins and even accordions, and none of it ever seems extraneous. Simply put, this is fun-time party rock that's still inventive enough to make for interesting listening.
