The Orb film premieres at Manchester Film Festival

Lunar Orbit, a new film on ambient pioneers The Orb, is set for its debut showing at this year's Manchester International Film Festival.

The documentary follows Orb duo Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann as they create 2015 LP Moonbuilding 2703 AD in Fehlmann's Berlin studio, charting the outfit's history alongside their current creative process. Watch the trailer for the film, directed by Patrick Buchanan, in the player above. Lunar Orbit premieres at the Printworks in Manchester on Saturday 5 March at 10:15pm, with a Q&A with Buchanan to follow.

The Orb have also released Alpine, an EP of brand-new material and an expansion on their Alpine Dawn track first heard on Kompakt's Pop Ambient compilation alongside cuts from Max Würden and Stephan Mathieu.
