Summerhall reveal 2016 Edinburgh Fringe programme
Summerhall have announced details of their theatre and music programmes for the 2016 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The multi-arts venue's sixth Edinburgh Fringe programme features nearly 120 shows from a host of acclaimed producers and artists. The main Summerhall programme features World Without Us from immersive Belgian theatre company Ontroerend Goed, The Brain Show from veteran comedian and activist Robert Newman, a clutch of shows produced in association with avant-garde Berlin-based theatre agency Aurora Nova, and Letters to Windsor House from the acclaimed Sh!t Theatre.
The Roundabout venue from Paines Plough returns to Summerhall with new shows from political comedy duo Jonny and the Baptists and off-Broadway hit Ghost Quartet, plus the return of the "powerfully, stunningly, joyfully uplifting" Every Brilliant Thing and Walrus Theatre's 2015 Fringe hit Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons. Northern Stage also return with a programme of new theatre at Summerhall programme, including new work from Third Angel, the company behind 2015's The Paradise Project.
In music, Summerhall's Nothing Ever Happens Here gig series features Edinburgh Fringe shows from 2015 Scottish Album of the Year winner Kathryn Joseph (6 Aug), the hotly-tipped WHITE with support from fast-rising Glasgow R&B duo Bossy Love (13 Aug), folk troubadour Richard Dawson (18 Aug) and Montreal quartet Suuns (21 Aug), as well as a DJ set by much-loved post-dubstep duo Mount Kimbie (18 Aug).
Tickets for Summerhall's 2016 Fringe programme go on sale on Thu 12 May.
