Dizzee Rascal joins Electric Fields 2017 line-up
The grime ace is the second headliner for the fourth edition of Electric Fields festival at Drumlanrig Castle near Dumfries
Dizzee Rascal's headline slot is the grime legend's first Scottish show since his set at Wickerman Festival in 2014, joining the previously-announced Frightened Rabbit in the headline slots at this year's Electric Fields. Also new to the line-up are London MC and spoken-word artist Kate Tempest, US slacker rock outfit Car Seat Headrest, afrobeat-inspired Glasgow duo Sacred Paws and Edinburgh electro-pop newcomers Future Get Down. Neu! Reekie! will also curate a spoken word programme at this year's festival.
Band of Horses, Real Estate, Glass Animals, Peter Hook & The Light – the new band from the Joy Division bassist – and SAY Award-winner Anna Meredith also join the line-up, alongside British Sea Power and Paisley art-poppers The Vegan Leather. Jackmaster heads up the electronic portion of the Electric Fields bill, alongside Denis Sulta and Lord of the Isles. Full details of the line-up so far can be found below.
Elsewhere on the bill, the returning Arab Strap are joined by The Jesus & Mary Chain, with Brat and the Bonemen, And Yet It Moves – the new project from Amazing Snakeheads frontman Dale Barclay – and Glasgow electro-rock outfit Crash Club also set to play. Electric Fields 2017 takes place at Drumlanrig Castle, Dumfries & Galloway on 1 & 2 September; read our two-part review of Electric Fields 2016.
