Ex-Easter Island Head, Jane Weaver and more for Sounds From The Other City

Article by News Team | 09 Mar 2015

As reported in our recent Northwest music news column, Salford festival Sounds From The Other City has announced its first batch of artists for 2015.

Brighton drone-punkas Cold Pumas, folk singer Jane Weaver and experimental Austinites Shit & Shine are among the more prominent names on the bill, with various stages curated by a range of promoters and local cognoscenti.

There will also be a series of artistic commissions, including Liverpool's Ex-Easter Island Head teaming up with an ensemble from the BBC Philharmonic for a brand new composition. In addition, the Red Deer Club record label will work with singer Sara Lowes to present The Battle of Bexley Square, an event which promises to re-imagine the traditional folk song.

Taking place at a variety of spaces around Salford, from cotton mills to phone booths, SFTOC also includes a variety of club nights and collaborations, with Liverpool's Deep Hedonia and Manchester's Video Jam among those taking part.

Sounds From The Other City 2015 takes place in various venues across Salford on Sunday 3 May. Further details, including ticket and venue information, can be found here.
