Sounds from the Other City festival reveals lineup
Salford's Sounds from the Other City festival has announced its full lineup for 2016, featuring Gwenno, Laura Cannell, Ex-Easter Island Head and many more
Multi-venue festival Sounds from the Other City today announced its full lineup, with Ex-Easter Island Head, Irma Vep, Gwenno and more all playing venues in Salford on 1 May.
The annual celebration of new music, art and performance brings together many of Greater Manchester's best DIY and independent promoters to programme 16 stages along Chapel Street and the surrounding area.
Acts revealed today include Laura Cannell, Negra Branca and Tacocat, playing on stages programmed by the likes of Fat Out, Grey Lantern and many more.
Some major new collaborators have been announced for this year's bill, with arts and culture magazine The Quietus partnering promoters Grey Lantern on The King's Arms stage, and NTS Radio broadcasting live from the festival.
Another big addition to this year's festival is a Sounds from the Other City TV channel, SFTOC TV, which will be beaming the day's adventures around the world.
Meanwhile, the art direction of this year's event is led by artist himHallows, who, as well as creating otherworldly characters and mystical environments for the festival's 'New Occult' theme, is hosting a masquerade ball, the Sea Captain's Ball, at midnight.
Scroll down for the full lineup – and don't forget, The Skinny will be running a photo competition at the festival once again, with the chance to win a goody bag full of prizes donated by the promoters and friends of the festival for sharing your images of the day on Instagram or Twitter. Find out more about that here.
Tickets are £20 from Skiddle or Piccadilly Records.
