the xx, Tribe Called Quest headline Bestival 2017
Rob da Bank also welcomes Pet Shop Boys, Jamie T and Dizzee Rascal to the Dorset festival's new site
The intial line-up has been announced for the eighth edition of Bestival, with former Mercury Prize winners the xx, pioneering hip-hop veterans A Tribe Called Quest and arch synthpop duo Pet Shop Boys at the top of the bill.
With the festival now relocated to its new home in Dorset's 12,000-acre Lulworth Estate, the line-up also includes eclectic singer-songwriter Jamie T, Parisian nu-disco torchbearers Justice and grime mainstay Dizzee Rascal, with the likes of DJ Shadow, Laura Mvula and Charlotte Church's Late Night Pop Dungeon also on hand.
A packed DJ roster also sees BBC Radio One's Annie Mac, dancehall champion David Rodigan and Glaswegian house merchant Jackmaster taking to the decks, with organiser and DJ Rob da Bank declaring Bestival to be "the funnest, most adventurous, musically savvy and downright magical festival on the map." Myriad micro-venues, pop-ups and attractions (including The World's Biggest Confetti Canon, the Bestival Inflatable Church and the Love-Bot) are promised across the festival's various stages, all in the shadow of Lulworth Castle, with more to be announced.
Bestival takes place between 7-10 September – tickets are on sale now, with initial limited travel offers between £150-190 available between 7.30am, Thu 9 Feb until 7am, Sat 11 Feb.
