The Skinny Short Film Competition 2015 Shortlist

Feature | 28 Jul 2015

We're delighted to announce the shortlist of films in contention for The Skinny Short Film Competition 2015.

Following our inaugural 2014 competition, we opened out our search in 2015 to filmmakers beyond Scotland in a bid to find the best micro-budget short film (a short made for less than £1000) produced this year in the whole of the UK. After a great response, with submissions coming in from all over the country, we've whittled the entries down to a shortlist featuring a diverse range of filmmaking talents and style, with thrillers, documentaries, dramas and comedies all represented.

Over the coming days we’ll be publishing each of the films from the shortlist on theskinny.co.uk, along with Q&As with the filmmaking talent behind them – read the full list, and watch the shortlisted films, below.

The winning film in The Skinny Short Film Competition 2015 will be announced at a special event at Hill Street Design House on 23 August, ahead of our 10th Birthday night at the Jura Unbound strand of the Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Last year’s winnerGood Girl, by Rory Alexander Stewart – was a deeply original work that spliced kitchen sink realism with sci-fi horror. Watch Good Girl, and Stewart’s follow-up, Misery Guts, at our Short Film Competition portal.
