Ten Rapid: Featuring OFF!, Chelsea Wolf, IndianRedLopez, an unearthed Wu-Tang classic and more

Welcome to our new weekly online feature Ten Rapid, where we showcase a selection of the week's best new music videos, as curated by The Skinny's music team. The title, as you've no doubt picked up, is a nod to one of our favourite bands, Scottish post-rock royalty Mogwai – read our interview with the band's Stuart Braithwaite and Barry Burns, this month's cover story, here. Thus far, we've only seen a video for The Lord Is Out of Control from the fantastic, five-star-awarded Rave Tapes, and we're looking forward to the next.

Kicking off the inaugural Ten Rapid playlist, we begin with Metronomy's new – and very apt, with Valentine's Day around the corner – video for Love Letters. It's directed by none other than Michel Gondry, the visionary filmmaker behind The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Be Kind Rewind. Although he principally works in film these days, he's a veteran music video director, and began his career making videos for Björk, Massive Attack and others. 

Next up, a video from the LuckyMe camp, featuring a new track by Norweigian producer and turntablist Cashmere Cat. The track is taken from his new Wedding Bells EP, released this week. The film was shot by none other than The Skinny's very own Head of Video, Peter Marsden.

From cutting-edge electronics to punk now, with the welcome return of LA hardcore heroes OFF! Their new clip, directed by Jason Farrell, sees the band performing the track Void You Out live at San Diego's The Casbah, after a behind-the-scenes chat with front-man Keith Morris. You can feel the sheer intensity of the band, and can almost feel the sweat dripping from the ceiling.

German experimental indie rockers The Notwist are back with a jangly slice of perfect pop in the mould of Stereolab, and a charming animated video by Yu Sato. The band's new album, Close to the Glass, is out on Sub Pop on 24 February. 

Next we have a video from The Julie Ruin, the band fronted by Bikini Kill's Kathleen Hanna. It's their first official video, and shows them performing and relaxing in Hanna's adopted home town of Olympia, Washington. It's directed by Silly Cinnamon.The track is taken from their debut album, Run Fast. 

Young Ayrshire heavy rockers Mechanical Smile have a new video for Say Goodbye – it features the band playing in a skate park, alternating the harmonious lead vocals of Dawn Marshall with the throat-shredding scream of guitarist Callum McClune. The track is taken from their album of the same name, out on 17 February, and available for pre-order here. The video was directed by Ian McLauchlan.

We love a bit of Chelsea Wolfe – combining art-noise, electronic drone, doom metal flourishes and ethereal, Gothic textures, her latest album Pain Is Beauty was a level up for the Sacramento singer and producer, and was recently used in the Season 4 preview clip for Game of Thrones. The video for Feral Love combines her Gothic aesthetic with horror movie tropes and stark desert landscapes. It was directed by Mark Pellington. 

Next, a live session from the Song, By Toad record label – Todd Umhoefer from Old Earth delivers a ten-minute session of songs recorded for the label during his tour last year. "This was another one of those sessions which ended with Mrs. Toad making an amazing meal, and with us all drinking an absolute shitload of wine and playing records late into the night," writes the label's Matthew Young. Young, Broken Records' Rory Sutherland and Steven Tonge put the film together.  

Aberdeen's Indian Red Lopez return with a new video this week – No Longer Dying is taken from Commit, their second album, which draws influences from Giorgio Moroder, Talk Talk, Mew and Spiritualized to create a blend of glacial synth-pop and shimmering shoegaze. We interviewed the band back in 2011. You can also cop a free download of No Longer Dying at the band's Soundcloud page. They play Edinburgh's Sneaky Pete's on 15 March, and Glasgow's Stereo on 16 March. Commit is out on 17 March.

Last but certainly not least, here's a long-lost video from the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. Taken from their 2001 album Iron Flag, Y'All Been Warned is a classic Wu cut, featuring a slick RZA funk loop and verses from Method Man, RZA himself, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon and Masta Killa. This never-before-seen video will certainly help fill the Wu-shaped hole in our lives as we wait for their long-planned reunion album, A Better Tomorrow.
