On Tour: Kate Bush to play rare live shows
Cult singer and icon Kate Bush will give a series of rare live performances in August and September at London's Hammersmith Eventim Apollo, it was announced today. The concerts, 15 in total, are not currently thought to be the start of a tour – they are Bush's first major live outing in some time. She has been reclusive as a performer since the late 1970s, only appearing rarely at charity concerts, usually to perform duets. For the series of concerts, given the title 'Before the Dawn,' Bush will be performing solo – it remains to be seen whether she will present new material, tracks from 2011's 50 Words For Snow (reviewed here), or a greatest hits set.
Tickets are on sale at 9.30am on 28 March, and are limited to 4 per booking and photo ID will be required to be presented by the lead booker upon arrival at the venue on the night of the show. Ticket prices range from £49 to £135. They will be available from Eventim.co.uk, Gigsandtours.com and Ticketmaster.co.uk. Bush will play on August 26, 27, 29, 30 and September 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, 17 and 19.
