Shearwater @ Stereo, 28 Jul

Following the release of sixth album The Golden Archipelago earlier this year, Shearwater - led by Jonathan Meiburg (ex-Okkervil River) - are taking to Glasgow's Stereo for a night of expansive musical adventure.

The third album in a thematically-linked trilogy, The Golden Archipelago is perhaps Meiburg and Co.'s most ambitious effort yet, taking its time to weave intricate tales of remote Islands and the life that inhabits them.

The result is a slow-moving and densely layered body of work that has deservedly been the subject of intense critical praise. For the unconvinced, this is a rare opportunity to see for yourself.
