Influenced by the likes of The Beatles, Gang of Four, Interpol, The Libertines and Sonic Youth, band of brothers Ded Rabbit are back with their brand new single, Figurine, set for release on Fri 3 Feb.
Brothers Eugene, Fergus, Donal and Eoin Gaine make up this Edinburgh-based four-piece originally from Yorkshire. They relocated to the Scottish Highlands in 1996 and began playing music together in 2006. After moving to Edinburgh they started to take their music more seriously and have found their feet in the studio working on their last three EPs in Glasgow with Rocket Science Studios, which has at one time or another been home to Texas, Belle and Sebastian and Dougie MacLean among others.
Inspired by The Old Grey Whistle Test and 70s TV performances, Ded Rabbit have produced a retro video to accompany their new single Figurine, out this Friday. Of the track Donal Gaine says: “The single is a little more vigorous and rocking than the last. Figurine makes fun of the relationship between a performer and several people who may try to influence them.”
