Seemingly located in the middle of... well, not really very much, to be honest... anyway, Holt brewery boozer the Eagle Inn is owned by Rupert Hill and Johnny Booth, famed rejuvenators of dying pubs (The Castle, The Parlour, Gullivers). Built in the 19th century, and rebuilt in 1903, this classic pub received a modern spruce up in 2012, when the pub was undergoing the threat of closure.
Located seconds away from Blueprint Studios, you're sure to bump into a member of Elbow if you visit often enough. Expect lots of live music nights (as many as four gigs in a week), supporting local and emerging artists. Gigs are rarely more than £4, and you can expect decent quality here: Hill, Booth and general manager, Esther Maylor, are in a band of their own, Biederbeck. It's worth the five minute treck from Deansgate, even if only to get a look at their century-old piano...
