No Way Back is an independent cafe in the thriving Strathbungo area in Glasgow's south side, just a short stroll from the delightful Queen's Park – perfect if you're looking for a dine and dash lunchtime munch, as this little place can get pretty busy, and there's not much space for sitting. The decor is kept simple, save for a few interesting pieces of artwork (and amazing toilet walls!), leaving no mistake that the focus here is entirely on the food. The menu offers something a little different from your usual sandwich shop, with flavours from all over the world.
The menu is easy to navigate, split into breakfast, soup, 'handheld', lunch and hot dog sections, all of which will leave you with change from a tenner. Coffee comes from local makers Dear Green Place, and the menu's international flavour is reflected in their drinks selection which includes Fritz juices and Club Mate, for anyone looking for a taste of Germany. Vegetarian choices are limited, but they do have a tasty choice of homebaked sweet treats – and who needs bother with lunch when you can have cake, right?
If you're interested in finding out about new food and drink places in Edinburgh and Glasgow, you might be interested in The Skinny's Annual Food and Drink Survey, in which we ask you, the readers, to democratically decide where's best for a pint and bite in your region. No Way Back landed a winning place in the category of Best New Place in 2015, along with Aizle, Ox and Finch and Drygate.
