Pinto is one of two chains that's been battling it out in the great Glasgow burrito wars for the past few years. This branch on Queen Street was the first Pinto to open back in 2011, and it's still going strong. For the uninitiated, the drill is pretty simple. First you choose what type of vessel you want, whether it be a quesedilla, burrito or tacos. Then choose your filling (there's a few different options including pulled pork, beef and a veggie choice), add your beans and sauces and hey presto – you've got yourself a tasty Mexican feast! This particular branch is also licensed, so you can pick up a cheeky margarita or beer to wash it all down.
The decor is cheerful, and there are plenty of seats, stools and booths to plonk yourself down on, but it's not really the sort of restaurant you'd linger in for hours. Make sure to pick up a loyalty card, though – with three branches in Glasgow (both just a short hop away, with one on Gordon Street and the other on Renfield Street), and another two in Edinburgh, the chances are that you'll be back for more sooner rather than later.
