An irrepressible Glasgow institution, The 13th Note is a beaten-up or ‘well-loved’ indie basement bar, exhibition space and gig venue. They also house an incredible vegan cafe upstairs, whose cajun-spiced fries are to die for.
A beautifully honest and friendly institution where visitors are strictly encouraged to bring along their four-legged friends (as far as dogs are concerned), make use of the free indoor bike-parking, exhibit their own art (they even take no comission on sales!) or put on their own gigs for exceptionally lovely hire rates. And it's here that The 13th Note really comes into its own, as an invaluable supporter of the Glasgow music scene.
As well as a variety of acts ranging from up-and-coming to established, 'the Note' (as it's affectionately called) also provides a space for the locals to cut their teeth live and to maybe, just maybe be immortalised in its formidable jukebox. Arguably one of the best gig venues in Scotland.
