The Bridgewater Hall is Manchester's international music venue and concert hall, housed in a beautifully angular building that juts out into the surrounding area. The Bridgewater Hall is host to a variety of performances across classical music, rock, pop, jazz and world music, as well as the occasional stand up comedy event and frequent family events. With a busy programme of over 250 performances a year, it's also home to three resident orchestras — The Hallé, Manchester Camerata, and BBC Philharmonic who perform there on a regular basis — while the Hall programmes their own classical music season every year. Extend your evening out with a pre-concert visit to their award-winning Charles Hallé restaurant, or their stalls cafe bar if you'd prefer a quick snack. The venue also offers guided tours if you'd like to learn more about the hall's history and architecture, and it's open 10am - 6pm every day for the general public to see. [Charlotte Davies]
