Seven Days Of Idlewild: Take Me Back To The Islands - Exclusive live session

Video | 15 Feb 2015

Our Seven Days Of Idlewild acoustic series, charting the band's past and present ahead of their new album release, continues with Take Me Back to the Islands, which originally appeared on their self-released 2009 album Post Electric Blues

"I used to buy records purely based on which label they were on [...] but everyone consumes music in such a different way now," says Roddy Woomble of the rationale behind crowd-funding their more recent output. "Things like Kickstarter and Pledge have become part of the development of how to get music made. Now I realise that, it's just the way we'll always work."

This is the sixth video in our series of seven with the band – watch them all from the start below. To mark the release of Idlewild's new LP Everything Ever Written tomorrow, our concluding session will feature a brand new track from their studio return.

Videography from Stuart Edwards & Peter Marsden.

Read The Skinny's interview with Idlewild, where they talk about the new album and their earlier records.

You can also find out about upcoming Idlewild tour dates in The Skinny's stream of the band's new track Come on Ghost.
