Seven Days Of Idlewild: Too Long Awake - Exclusive live session

Video | 13 Feb 2015

Our Seven Days Of Idlewild series continues with Too Long Awake, taken from the band's 2005 full-length release Warnings/Promises, recorded at the renowned Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles.

"We had an incredible time at that studio," Rod Jones recalls. "There's something very different from travelling to the studio in the sunshine down Sunset Boulevard to catching the number 19 to Granton."

"We realised Parlophone weren't going to take us on for another record," says Roddy Woomble. "So we thought 'while we're here, let's have a good time'. And we did. The studio was a museum of sound, with all these great records; Neil Young, Crosby Stills and Nash, The Byrds. We were living out our fantasies, but I still think the record stands up as a piece of work."

This is the fourth session in our series of seven with the band – watch them all from the start below.

Videography from Stuart Edwards & Peter Marsden.

Idlewild will return imminently with a new album, Everything Ever Written. Read The Skinny's interview with the band, where they talk about the new album and their earlier records.
