Warpaint share 'No Way Out (Redux)'
Los Angeles dream rock quartet Warpaint have today revealed the recorded version of live favourite 'No Way Out (Redux)'. Although it's not yet known whether the band will include the track as part of their in-the-works third album, it's set to be released digitally this March as part of a series of new songs.
Speaking exclusively to The Skinny, bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg had this to tell us about the status of their next full-length release – the follow-up to 2014's Warpaint – and revealed that a solo project is also in the works: “We're trying to capture the way we sound live on this next record. I think we’ve yet to do that and there’s some magic there. We always end up enjoying our demos more than the actual album because it feels more representative of our band in a way. Since we’ve been home in November we’ve just been writing.
"I’ve been working on my own stuff as well; I want to put out something this year. We’ve been writing and trying to build a catalogue so we have as many options and songs as possible. The fun part is working out where they all belong. We’re just writing every day, everyone’s writing at their own studio at home and we have a shared studio downtown. Everyone‘s sending each other tracks to record over. It’s been a little bit of a different process, we haven’t done things this way before, but it’s been really productive and we’re happy in new times. We’re hoping to release a new record this year.”
