Art Bar

Situated across from Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art and Design, The Art Bar is small and unpretentious. The bar attracts students, artists and creative professionals alike. Serving light snacks by day, it is transformed by night into a busy yet warm and inviting space for interesting conversation, folk music, open mic nights and casual DJ slots.

The staff team is small but they are friendly and knowledgeable, offering a familiar welcome whether you are a regular or not. With poor mobile phone signal, the underground venue makes for the ideal spot to escape from the modern stresses of work and university life, failing that the bar also offers free WiFi.

The venue has a real retro feel to it, with old fashioned lighting and 1970s style decor and art work for sale from local artists and photographers displayed on the walls. Meanwhile, the outdoor smoking area is a peaceful place to enjoy a drink with friends in the summer months and a quiet spot to soak up the evening air all year round.

The Art Bar is an unmissable stop off point on the way down the Perth Road and back into the centre of town.
