Ever wanted to throw your very own mad hatter boozy tea party? Surely even if it has never crossed your mind before this very moment, the answer is still yes. In that case, we'd advise you to look no further than this quirky, family-run Bohemian bar situated in the port o'Leith, where cocktails are served in vintage tea pots, tea cups, glasses and jam jars – complete with a selection of randon hats for you to wear. Obviously.

The bar is divided into two areas – a back room which seats larger groups, and a livelier front bar area for casual dining and socialising. The bar is decorated with pre-loved furniture, vintage trinkets, and random treasures, while various board games adorn the window sills and the walls are offered up free for all aspiring artists wanting to display their work. This is a rare instance where even the toilets deserve a special mention, with prints of comic book characters and old vinyl stuck to the wall. There's even a chalkboard above the urinal – its purpose remains unknown.

Additionally, food is served from 10am-10pm every day, offering up a good selection of pub-grub favourites prepared from scratch using fresh, seasonal and sustainable local produce, while homemade baked goodies include bread which is also available to take home. Note: it gets busy on the weekend so booking is advised if you want a sit down meal.

The Roseleaf nailed it in 2014 and 2015, and in our 2018 Food & Drink Survey it earned a spot in the Best Bloody Mary category. In our most recent 2019 survey, it was voted one of the city's Best Breakfasts, along with Loudons and Dishoom, one of the city's Best Lunch and Dinner spots and also made it into the Best Pubs and Bars category. Those are some serious accolades right there!
