Ostara Cafe

Now a stalwart amongst North Edinburgh's coffee-lovin' scene, Ostara Cafe is a wee gem is tucked away on a quiet cobbled street just off the Shore in Leith; perfect if you need an excuse to escape the bustle of the city centre.

While the coffees and cakes are tempting, it's the brunch options (served all day) which will keep you coming back time and again, with delicious bagels provided by The Bearded Baker, breakfast rolls and french toast offerings galore.  While there are plenty of hangover-busting options, there's also a big emphasis on using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, and there are plenty of healthy alternatives should you feel the need to top up on your vitamin levels.  

Locals might also notice a few familiar names on the menu, as Ostara do their best to source their products from Edinburgh-based suppliers; with offerings from companies such as Pekoe Tea, Williams & Johnson Coffee Co and the wonderful folks at Puddledub farm, customers can rest assured that they are doing their bit to help support local businesses and help keep the indepedent cafe scene sustainable.
