Contact Theatre

Contact is a charitable space with a focus on encouraging young people within theatrical art. Located behind the Manchester Academy building, the distinctive looking theatre prides itself on a programme of diversity and acceptance, inviting young people, artists and staff to shape the theatre's programme. Contact hosts a range of genre-defying projects and performances, with a vision for all performances to inspire creativity and empower both the performers and the visitors, no matter whether it's through art, dance, poetry, theatre or stand up comedy. Encouraging respect and cooperation with all cultures and abilities, they also host a yearly project, Contacting The World, which involves partnering with other young theatre companies from around the globe, to exchange ideas and which culminates in a final performance. It's the perfect place to go for a last minute evening out, as you never know what you'll end up watching, but you'll almost certainly come away feeling inspired. The Contact Theatre building is fully accessible, with audio described and BSL interpreted performances also taking place.
