As a Scream pub, this pub does what it says on the tin – the floors are sticky, the food is standard, affordable pub grub and cheap drink deals are available every night of the week. Sure, the soles of your feet might spend an above-avarage amount of time stuck to the floor, but that's a small price to pay for the joyous feeling of extra dollar jingling in your pocket. And, if all of those pound coins are burning a hole in your pocket, you can always slot 'em on in to the video jukebox, the quiz machines or kick back with a game or two of pool.
And, for the record, what it lacks in the flooring department, it certainly makes up for with its convenient location. Right in the middle of Edinburgh's old town, it attracts a dynamic mixture of punters, catching tourists fallen adrift from the pub crawl conveyor belt of the Royal Mile, students who've grown weary of their regular haunts, and locals stopping off for a post-work-pint.
During the Edinburgh Fringe, The Tron flings open its doors and welcomes Just The Tonic for a month of flippin' hilarious entertainment, too. Cheers!
