This Indian eatery is something of a hidden gem in Manchester - quite literally. This & That is tucked away down a tiny side street in the Northern Quarter - in fact you’ve probably walked past it countless times without noticing it. For those who aren’t in the know, it’s on Soap Street next to Trof, and once you step inside you’ll find a pretty no-frills, soup kitchen canteen style cafe. But it’s the food that really makes this place stand out. The menu hasn’t really changed much since it opened in the 80s, but it’s famed across Manchester for their £5 ‘rice and three’. On the menu you’ll find different curries on rotation depending on the day, but there’s always a huge selection - 12 different options each day - and plenty of vegetarian choices. Whatever you choose, you’re guaranteed a huge portion and extremely good value for the cheap price you’ll be paying.
This & That was named one of the Best International Cuisines in the North West in The Skinny Food and Drink Survey 2015.
