Awash with activity, the DCA is far from ordinary. As a centre for the exhibition and development of contemporary art and culture, it flaunts its own cinema, showing recent films, foreign films and cult classics, as well as hosting regular exhibitions.
Events and workshops also come into play and the opportunities are infinite - Knitting Without Borders and Screenprinting for Beginners are just a taster. Easy to spend the whole day here, it's ideal for a family day out or just alone for quiet viewing. Every care has been taken to make sure this place is just as accessible for any disabled user as it is for any kid or adult, giving this place even more of a thumbs up.
The cafe/bar/restaurant, Jute, offers a wide variety of delicious foods covering breakfast, lunch and dinner - however, unfortunately the prices play chase to middle-class art buyer rather than the pennliess student. Our advice, bring a packed lunch and make sure to give this place your full attention, there's always a lot of worthwhile stuff to be seen.
